Evon Jones April O'Connor, Associate Art Director, asked for an environmental portrait of Evon Jones, CIO, The Dial Corp. for the January 5, 2004 issue of Computerworld Magazine, For the section titled: "Premier 100 IT Leaders." The story mentioned how "Last year, Jones and his IT staff worked together to map out and rebuild Dial's technical infrastructure in seven months, including an update of its core network, storage systems and server consolidation work. "The aggressive nature of the project was driven by the need to stabilize Dial's infrastructure and to achieve an average of 99.99% availability to mission-critical systems," Jones says. "The project was a great success." I decided to shoot in The Dial Corporation's large computer server room which offered an interesting background related to the information technology that Evon Jones works with on a daily basis. I scouted the location on Dec. 2nd, and determined the shot would need a lot of lighting which included the use of various colored gels on about 12 Dynalites strobes. The shot, which took my assistant Lyle Moultrie and myself about 3 hours to set up and light. I had photographed Mr. Jones with Dial's CFO, Conrad Conrad (who prefers to be called "Rad") for CFO Magazine on 10/14/03, so it was nice to see him again and make another interesting photo with him.
