Vicki Casper
World Vision advocate for children
Phoenix, AZ ~ 9:35 AM on 3.20.2008
Frances Borchardt, Photo Editor for The Chronicle of Philanthropy wanted a simple portrait of Vicki Casper, so we shot that in addition to this shot of Vicki (right) talking with Kim Rex (both with Southwest Airlines) about World Vision and the availability of child sponsorship. Vicki is a flight attendant from Oceanside, Calif., that has found a way to be an advocate for children awaiting sponsorship around the world from right here in the United States.

All 4 planes were added in post-production from different frames (earlier or later than this image obviously). People are really there watching the planes, but the little girl that is kneeling, she is the same girl that is standing, I just borrowed her from a different frame, then did a hue/saturation layer mask and changed the color of her sweater so it doesn't look like the same girl (maybe her twin :-) then added her reflection in the floor area. A gaussian blur was added to background to make it appear like it was shot at a wider aperture.
